Cooking time

  • 500 gram lamb cubes

  • 2 x Onions cut in quarters

  • 2 x Carrots diced

  • Patty Pans (one large or 4 small ones -can be replaced with another vegetable)

  • Courgette (one large or 4 – 6 small ones)

  • 1 x Sweet Potato – peeled and cubed

  • Salt to taste

  • 100g of Tomato Paste

  • 1 Tblsp of Turmeric

  • Some dry chili flakes to taste

  • 4 Garlic Cloves (whole or diced)

  • Pepper to taste

  • 500ml water or add as needed to cover veggies to cook

  • Fry the onions until see-through
  • Take the onions out and brown the meat, then put the onions back with the lamb in the pot and fry with the turmeric, salt, pepper and the chili flakes as well as the tomato paste
  • Add some water and cook the lamb for about 40 minutes on it’s own
  • Add the veggies and garlic and cook until lamb and veggies are cooked, add water as needed but be careful of too much water so that it is not too watery but rather a sticky gooey stew

  • I am no professional cook but I love cooking meals that my family enjoy! This was finger-licking good! Dish up with rice, couscous or some freshly baked baguettes and of course a lovely red wine! Enjoy! (photo not my own. On loan from www.unsplash.com by Giselle Herrera
